COVID - 19 | BUSINESS UPDATE

NEW NATIONAL RESTRICTIONS

Following the Prime Minister's statement on 31 October 2020, we can confirm that we intend to remain fully operational across all areas of our business, whilst continuing to assess and monitor all the guidance and information available.

As we manage our business through these recent restrictions, our priority is to minimise the risk of transmitting the virus and to keep our employees and customers safe, whilst maintaining the service levels you have come to depend upon from LPD. Where our office staff can effectively work remotely they will do so and will remain available to assist you on their normal contact numbers.

Our delivery scheduling remains unchanged and we will update you further should this be necessary.

Our Business Development Managers will still be available to meet your needs but will, until 2 December or the New National Restrictions change, arrange virtual meetings rather than face to face.

Any visitors to site must wear face coverings where required and maintain social distancing at all times.

As always we will continue to work with you and support you as much as we can during this period and going forward.

01/05/2020 - COVID-19 Update

DELIVERY SCHEDULING UPDATE

As you are aware following our last update, LPD took the decision to resume servicing customers who were still operating in a safe and controlled manner, and we commenced a phased restart of our delivery operations as of 27th of April 2020.

WE ARE NOW PLEASED TO CONFIRM THAT WE ARE ABLE TO COMMENCE A WEEKLY DELIVERY SERVICE FROM 4 MAY 2020.

Our sales staff and transport team working either remotely or from the office will be pleased to assist you with any queries you may have.

Our workforce who were invited to return are working within strict new safety regulations. These regulations include full compliance with current social distancing advice from PHE and follow the latest government guidelines. We have adapted our delivery processes to suit this new working environment.

contactless process means that when you do receive an on-site delivery our driver will annotate the delivery note with the name of your colleague who accepts the delivery, sign, date and time the delivery note, and leave a copy with your goods. The copy our driver retains will be the legal proof of delivery.

We have received a great deal of support and well-wishes over the last few weeks and have never been more grateful to have such incredible customers. We want you to know that we are doing our very best to manage our business operations; we realise that times are very tough for a great many of you and we are here to offer you as much support as we can.

23/04/2020 - COVID-19 Update

YOUR BUSINESS IS IMPORTANT TO US

A large part of our industry is making huge sacrifices to try reduce the spread of Coronavirus and here at LPD we have responded in solidarity with the government's lockdown restrictions.

As we manage our business through these challenging and rapidly changing times, we aim to balance many things. Our main priority is to keep our employees, and you our customers, safe and find a way to protect both our employees and your livelihoods.

Since we temporarily closed our operations in late March we have been in communication with many of you, through our remote working sales team, to monitor what is a fast-moving situation. As you may be aware industry wide efforts have now begun to try establish a safe phased return to work, in line with both our Government's and PHE's guidance, and supported by The Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy. We have a number of customers who continue to remain open in line with government advice, and e-tail customers who have demand as the public follow the government advice to shop online where possible.

In view of this LPD have taken the decision to resume servicing our customers who are still working and commence a phased restart including our warehouse, despatch and delivery operations as of 27th of April 2020.

We have invited a reduced workforce to initially come back into the business to run key roles working within strict new safety regulations. These regulations include full compliance with social distancing advice from PHE and the government, contactless delivery and collections, and revisions to our office practices. Please bear with us as we adapt our processes to this new working environment.

We have received a great deal of support and well-wishes since we closed on the 24th of March and have never been more grateful to have such incredible customers. We want you to know that we are doing our very best to manage our business operations; we realise that times are very tough for a great many of you and we are here to offer you as much support as we can.

Who can I contact about my account?

In line with the government guidelines we have arranged for our staff in central functions to work from home. Therefore, our Credit Control team remains fully operational and can be contacted in the usual ways.

Please note due to our remote working when calling us it may take longer than usual to get connected but please be patient and a colleague will answer. Alternatively, you can email our accounts team at:

As we approach the month end, we appreciate customers will be looking to make their regular account payments and to help protect our colleagues from the risks of COVID-19, we would much prefer all payments to be made either electronically or via our portal.

To assist you in this our credit team is available from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday on 0113 2513900; select the Accounts option.

Our bank details for electronic transfer are located on your monthly statement or please call our credit team for the details if needed.

If you haven't used our portal yet to make card payments, now's your chance! Contact our sales team at sales@lpddoors.co.uk and we will arrange to set your account up immediately. Don't forget you can also request copy invoices, copy delivery notes and check your account balance on the portal too.

With immediate effect we will be distributing your invoices/credit notes and month end statements by email. Please send your preferred email to accounts@lpddoors.co.uk to ensure your documentation is received.

29/03/2020 - COVID-19 Business Update

A MESSAGE TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS

Since the government's announcement on Monday evening we have been monitoring the situation on a daily basis and trying to manage following the government's advice on keeping our customers in the construction industry supplied and most importantly the welfare of our colleagues.

Having had time to reflect on the situation we now feel that the challenges of continuing to operate are so difficult that the right course of action is to prioritise the welfare of our staff and their families and to support the exceptional work of our NHS and other key workers over all other considerations. Therefore, we are closing the trading side of our business with immediate effect until further notice.

Please continue to place your orders in the normal way via email, fax, EDI or via our portal. We have a team of staff working remotely who are available to upload your orders in readiness for commencement of trading and to take your calls on our existing lines.

Also, we have a team of volunteers prepared to work to enable us to continue supporting the government by supplying any essential items needed by them to assist in stopping the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

We are actively working to manage the changing environment we all now face to enable us to serve you over the coming months and will update you.

We would like to put on record our thanks to all our staff for their hard work and dedication during these last two very difficult and challenging weeks.

We will continue to monitor government advice on a daily basis and be guided by this as to when it is safe and right to re-open.

25/03/2020 - COVID-19 Update

A MESSAGE TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS

In line with the government guidelines we have worked tirelessly over the last few days to be able to resume a service that allows us to protect all our employees and customers but enables us to support your business. We continue to seek clarification and further guidelines from the government and will update you accordingly.

Our portal remains open and our sales team are available to take your calls remotely on our existing lines.

As of today we are able to safely service the collection of furniture orders from our premises although there will be a strict protocol in place for this, which will be advised as your driver arrives on site.

From Monday we will re-commence deliveries on our own fleet and we will fulfil all orders as quickly and safely as possible, however there may be some delays to the usual lead times displayed.

We will update arrangements for safe contactless delivery at customers premises as soon as possible.

Please bear with us whilst we continue our efforts to ensure we can safely support your continued trading in these difficult times.

25/03/2020 - COVID-19 Update

LPD are temporarily closed.

LPD have made the difficult decision to temporarily close and would like to reassure you that we are working hard to put procedures in place, that will allow the business to be back up and running smoothly during these unprecedented times.

Due to a confirmed case of the virus on site, we are arranging decontamination of our warehouse. Please allow us time whilst we work on improving our health and safety practises. We currently aim to open for furniture collection tomorrow and for all deliveries from Monday next week.

Our Sales Team and support services will be fully set up to work from home wherever possible. We will be able to answer incoming calls remotely and will do our utmost to provide the same high level of service.

Remember, you can always use our online portal to check stock, place orders and make payments. If you would like to set this up, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of our dedicated team.

Following the Prime Minister's announcement on 23 March 2020, we have temporarily closed our site.

This is an unprecedented time and one that requires full support and collaboration by each and every one of us.

The Prime Minister has announced that all non-essential services will close to help stop the spread of COVID-19, yet we are aware that the Construction, Hardware and DIY sector has been categorised as essential by the government.  We are working out the safest and simplest way to enable us to support your business moving forward over the coming weeks.

Whilst we do that, we have made the decision that we will halt our deliveries once our current fleet of vehicles return to our site. This means there will be no further deliveries after today until we update you again. We hope this will be a temporary measure and we are looking at the options to see if our Home Delivery service could still be viable during the closedown.

You will be pleased to know that our Sales Team and support services are currently being set up to work from home wherever possible. We are working hard to implement a strategy for answering incoming calls remotely and we will update you as soon as it is arranged.

19/03/2020 - CUSTOMER UPDATE

LPD FLEET AND HOME DELIVERIES WILL CONTINUE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

(Please confirm by email if you are unable to accept deliveries)

Due to the developing Covid-19 situation and the governments on-going focus on delaying the spread of the virus we would like to keep all our customers informed of our efforts to maintain the safety and well-being of our staff, your staff and our business operations.

Business needs to go on as normally as possible, but in the current situation we believe precautions need to be taken to assist in protecting the health and wellbeing of our colleagues and their families.

We are constantly reviewing our position in line with the latest government guidance and have decided to implement changes to our basic operating procedures at our site at Midland Road, Leeds.

These changes come in two forms:

  • The management of internal staff and their flow internally in areas of our organisation.
  • The management of drivers/visitors who are external to LPD LTD, delivering or collecting.

Internally

We are managing our employees according to current NHS guidelines regarding proximity of working and the provision of hand-wash stations and multiple sanitising stations. We are practising social distancing wherever possible throughout our premises.

External Deliveries and Collections

After entering the site and parking by the security annexe all drivers are now requested to enter the Trade Counter area and abide by the instructions displayed there relating to social distancing.

All internal areas of LPD LTD, other than the Trade Counter are now off limits to any external visitor / driver. All collection drivers will be asked to remain in their vehicle until ready to load, at which time you will be asked to practise social distancing - that is to remain at least 2 metres apart.

Similarly, all LPD Drivers who attend customers premises have been instructed to practise social distancing, this therefore means you will not be required to sign your delivery note and the driver will do so on your behalf and leave you a blank copy.

We will continue to monitor and update the situation daily and review our position as the situation evolves.

You may need to pass this information onto any visitors/drivers or relevant staff, we have had a very positive response from all visitors/drivers since implementing the above, none of the above systems prevent us from working normally and servicing our customers to the full, it is to limit contact with external sources and prevent any potential spread.
